Virginia Armstrong

Armstrong, Virginia E. STOUGHTON - Virginia E. Armstrong, age 88, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center. She was born on June 15, 1918, in Carterville, Mo., the daughter of Henry and Opha May (Bucher) Edwards. Virginia was united in marriage to Richard Armstrong on June 18, 1952, in Webb City, Mo. She lived most of her life in Stoughton. Virginia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Stoughton. She was a foster parent to many over the years. Virginia is survived by her husband, Richard of Oregon; three children, Jean (Jerry) Moore of Phoenix, Ariz., Judith (Paul) Napier of Kentucky, and Steven Armstrong of Puerto Rico; foster-daughter, Dawn Houthuizen of McFarland; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ronnie and Dale Dean Cartwright; and four siblings. Funeral services will be held at CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, 825 S. Van Buren St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 2, 2007, with Branch President Gary Hutchinson presiding. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Virginia was loved and will be missed dearly by all her friends and family.
