Fay Newlun

Newlun, Fay Merle COTTAGE GROVE - Fay Merle Newlun, age 59, of Cottage Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 23, 2007. He was born on Feb. 3 1948, in Richland Center, the son of William and Lillian (Payne) Newlun. Fay married Joy Morris on Sept. 30, 1967, in La Farge. Fay graduated from La Farge High School in 1966. He was an over the road semi driver for more than 35 years. Fay and Joy lived in the Elkhorn area for 28 years before moving to Cottage Grove. Fay enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, spending time with his dogs and antique tractors. He is survived by his wife, Joy of Cottage Grove; children, Tracy (Rick) Gilbertsen of Watertown, Jenny Newlun of Cottage Grove and Josh (Jessica) Newlun of Lake Geneva; grandchildren, Emma and Noah Gilbertsen and Molly Newlun; nephews, Greg (Melissa) Newlun of Lakeland, Fla. and Brian (Barb) Newlun of Cottage Grove; sister-in-law, Shirley Newlun of Oregon; and many wonderful friends and relatives. Fay was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Doyle. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007, at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Highway 51, at 7 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of services.
