Naomi Vrtiak

Vrtiak, Naomi "Marcelle" DEFOREST - Naomi "Marcelle" Vrtiak, age 83, of DeForest, passed away on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg, after a short illness. She was born on Jan. 30, 1924, in Wells County, Ind., to Marion and Sadie McCague. Marcelle married Frederick Olson in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1968. She married John Vrtiak in 1974, in Chicago, Ill. After Johns retirement, they moved to Colorado and then to Surprise, Ariz. Marcelle loved to travel, and she and John saw most of the United States, Central America and Canada. John preceded her in death in 1998. Marcelle moved back to the Madison area in 2002, where she could be with her family. Marcelle is survived by her son, Daniel (Jill) Olson of Monona; stepchildren, Catherine (Jerry) Dwyer, John (Vicki) Vrtiak, Allen (Francia) Vrtiak and Gary Vrtiak; and grandchildren, Amanda, Cory, Becky (Justin), Sam, Brian, Sean, Kevin and Lester. She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 brothers and sisters; and a stepdaughter, Marlys Olson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2007, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2007. Memorials may be made to HospiceCare Inc.
