Obituary
Becker, Bonnie Lea MADISON - Bonnie Lea Becker, age 62, passed away on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on May 7, 1944, the daughter of Clayton Elmer and Carolyn Riddle. Bonnie graduated from Madison East High School in 1962. She married George Becker. Bonnie worked at Capital Indemity for 10 years in the underwriting department. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in the Befrienders. Bonnie was a loving, caring, generous and private person. She loved her birds and the other animals, including a dog and her cat, Sweetheart. Bonnie had a delightful sense of humor up to the end of her long, chronic illness. She enjoyed the theater, gardening, traveling and socializing with her many friends. Bonnie is survived by her son, Bret (Victoria) Becker of Centereach, N.Y.; a daughter, Denise (Nick) Stathoudakis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Delaney Becker, Marianne and Michael Stathoudakis; two sisters, Joyce Charmley of San Mateo, Calif. and Judi M. (Thomas) Griffin of Madison; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Arnold Riddle. A memorial service will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Curt Everson presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice, St. Marys Hospital, Bonnies good friends, Ward Nottestad, Sue Marking and many others, who were there for her during her long illness. We know you no longer live with pain and you now joyfully sing and dance with a choir of angels. For that, we also rejoice, but we surely miss your presence in our lives. You will always dance in our hearts and your memory will forever be a priceless treasure. The glow of your loving spirit will always warm our souls. Our angel, Bonnie, spread those wings and fly home into our hearts. Joyce and Judi, your sisters and friends.
