Obituary
Kershner, Katie Ann OREGON - Katie Ann Kershner, age 26, of Oregon, died on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, as a result of a car accident. She was born on July 14, 1980, in Madison, the daughter of Tracy (Lockwood) Mieske and John Kershner. Katie graduated from Edgerton High School in 1998. She was engaged to be married on April 21, 2007, to Chad Cox. Katie had planned a visit to her grandparents, Donald and Jane Kershner of Tipp City, Ohio, in February. She had a great sense of humor and would lighten up a room. Katie was foremost the loving mother of two lovely daughters, Hailey Young, age 8, and Julia Young, age 3. Her loving kindness and tenderness is abundantly evident in her two daughters spirits. Katie devoted her life to motherhood, and enjoyed reading and writing. In addition, she had a loving step-father, Dean Mieske of Edgerton; and loving step-mother, Patricia Habich-Kershner of Sun Prairie; brothers and sisters, Jessica (Don), Paul, Brandon, Thomas, Jonathan, Jacob and J.B.; and future in-laws, Sandy and Bob Baumel, were also close to her heart. Katies extended family and friends are too numerous to mention, but in the words of her spirit, you know who you are. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Virginia Lockwood. Funeral services will be held at ST. JAMES EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 427 S. Main St., Verona, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, with the Rev. Dr. Kurt M. Billings and the Rev. James Johnson presiding. Burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 431 Soden Drive, Oregon, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, and at the church from noon until the time of the service on Saturday.
