Hanson, Harold > VERONA - Harold Hanson, age 89, of Verona passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Heartland Country Village. Harold was born on Aug. 11, 1917, in Stoughton, the son of Halvor and Helga (Kristofferson) Hanson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Harold married Frieda S. Arnold on June 8, 1940, in Nashua, Iowa. Harold farmed in the Middleton and Mount Horeb area and worked for Farm Loan Service Auction Co. He is survived by his three children, Joan (Joseph) Taylor of Rio, Kitty Garfoot of Black Earth and Vadney "Bucky" (Nickie) Hanson of Mount Horeb; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Amble of Stoughton; a sister-in-law, Jean Hanson of Cottage Grove; and many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at ST. LUKES LUTHERAN CHURCH, 7337 Hubbard Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, with Pastor Stephen Ganzkow-Wold presiding. Burial will be in Middleton Junction Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
