Dorothy Schwanke

Schwanke, Dorothy L. MADISON/ KENOSHA - Dorothy L. Schwanke, age 92, died on Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at the Karmenta Nursing Home, Madison. She was born on April 26, 1914, in Kenosha, to Jess and Bertha (McDonough) Ott. Dorothy was united in marriage to Charles Schwanke. She worked at American Motors, Kenosha. Dorothy was active with the Middleton Senior Center where she taught craft classes both at the Senior Center and the Pheasant Branch Apts. She also enjoyed bingo including calling bingo at her apartment complex. Dorothy is survived by her son, LaRoi (Muriel Bunde) Novak of Madison; a granddaughter, Stacey (Jason) Faulkner; a grandson, David Novak, both of Lake Forest, Calif.; and a sister, Harriet Manske of Kenosha. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and her parents. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Georges Cemetery, Kenosha.
