Marilyn Manring

Manring, Marilyn Joyce MADISON - Marilyn Joyce Manring, age 75, passed away on Monday, Jan. 22, 2007. She was born on Oct. 30, 1931, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Arthur and Alma Orth. Marilyn was united in marriage to Dudley Manring on Sept. 11, 1949, at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, Omaha, Neb. She worked for 27 years in the nursing field, as a nurses aide at age 15, health services for the FBI in Wash., D.C., as a LPN at three Omaha hospitals, and at McHenry Hospital, McHenry, Ill. Marilyn retired from WPS Health Insurance Company, after 20 years of service. She loved gardening, birds, politics, and treasured her friendships. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Dudley; a son, Dudley (Pam) Manring of Bella Vista, Ark.; three daughters, Debbie (Bill) Gallagher and Deanna Benson, both of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Denise (Sam) Wickline of Oregon; 11 grandchildren, Marc and Keith Manring, Melanie (Hank) Hornsveld, Gretchen (Keith) Levin, Megan (Ben) Freese, Scott and David Benson, Heather Manring, John and Jeffrey Chandler and Sheila Wickline; 11 great-grandchildren, Dudley James, Calista, Anthony, Khirsten, Hank, Grace, Ella, Alexis, Jayden, Malachai and Kyara; two nephews, Bobby (Rainie) Orth and Ricky (Lisa) Orth; five sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Orth and Kathleen Ellis, both of Omaha, Neb., Winifred (Bud) Loder and Dereva Johnson, of Wyoming, and Helen Manring of Washington; and many nieces; nephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Orth; two brothers-in-law, Dayton and Kenny Manring; and a sister-in-law, Doris. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 3 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, with Chaplain Bob Groth presiding.
