Carroll Ferge

Ferge, Carroll H. COTTAGE GROVE - Carroll H. Ferge, age 88, died on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital in Madison. He was born on April 28, 1918, in Walworth, the son of Hugo and Clara (Koch) Ferge. Carroll married Ruby Gunderson, she preceded him in death. Carroll was a Mason and worked as a supervisor for Oscar Mayer Co. before buying a tavern in Bristol. Carroll and Ruby retired to their cottage on Lake Wisconsin in Poynette. Carroll is survived by his son, Richard (Roberta) Ferge of Cottage Grove; his daughter, Gayle Harris of Phoenix, Ariz.; grandchildren, David Opstein of Phoenix, Ariz., Diane (Jeff) Mohr of Madison, Dwight Ferge of King, Wis., Deborah Monson of Waterloo and Douglas (Patricia) Ferge of Cottage Grove; great-grandchildren, Scott (Diana) Ferge, Adam, Mitchell, Ethan, Chaz, Trae, Katherine "Katie" and Abigail "Abby" Ferge. There will be a private family celebration of his life. Carroll will be cremated and an inurnment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
