Ritter, Charlotte May STOUGHTON - Charlotte May Ritter, age 91 of Stoughton, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at Nazareth House. She was born on April 14, 1915, to Mabel and Albert Muetzel. Charlotte graduated in 1923 from Central High School in LaCrosse. She married Robert V. Ritter Sr. on March 29, 1937, at St. Johns Catholic Church by Father Ambrose Murphy. Charlotte worked as a nursing assistant at St. Frances Hospital, LaCrosse until she moved to Onalaska. She was a member of St. Patricks Altar Society. Charlotte moved to Madison and worked for the Department of Transportation for several years. She moved to Adams Friendship where she worked for the Adams County Co-op as a bookkeeper. Charlotte moved to Stoughton after retirement to be near family members in Dane County. Surviving are her daughters, Joann (Ronald) Jennings of Evansville, Mary (Michael) Soehner of Stoughton and Judy (Roger) Foemmel of Neillsville; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kay Ritter of Renton, Wash; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; a son, Robert Jr.; a daughter, Charlotte "Cookie" Frydenlund; and a brother, Charles Muetzel. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, Highway 51 North at Jackson Street, Stoughton at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will be at St. Anns Catholic Cemetery.
