Dorathea Smith

Smith, Dorathea A. OREGON - Dorathea A. Smith, age 95, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on Nov. 15, 1911, in Oregon, to William and Amelia Burdick. Dorathea married Harold W. Smith on Sept. 14, 1933. She was the oldest member of Peoples United Methodist Church. Dorathea did volunteer work at the senior center. She is survived by a son, Carl (Cleo) Smith of Waukesha; a daughter, Marie (Jerry) Gilden of Stoughton; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Brown and Barbara Graves. Dorathea was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1985; a daughter, Patricia Dolhanty; five brothers; and a sister. Funeral services will be held at PEOPLES UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 103 Alpine Parkway, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, with the Rev. Howard Hintzman presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. A special thanks to Oregon Manor for their care and compassion.
