Karnauskas, Therese MADISON - Therese died peacefully at the Ellen and Peter Johnson HospiceCare Residence in Fitchburg on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, after a brave four-year fight with breast cancer. Therese was born in Chicago, Ill., on Oct. 14, 1926, to and preceded in death by her father and mother Harry and Esther Wright. She was married to and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Frank J. Karnauskas. Therese is survived by devoted sons, Frank with daughter-in-in law Vicki, Robert, and Thomas with daughter-in law Linda; grandchildren, Mandy with husband Claudio, Kristopher with wife Alexis, Valerie and Erin; and family member, Joan. Therese is preceded in death by her sister, Wanda; and survived by her brother, Harry; nieces, Suzanne, Paulette, Esther, Christine, Patricia, Theresa and Julie. Therese wished to thank all those who cared for her in her time of need including neighbors and friends; especially Betty, Peggy, Verna, Irmie, Nancy, Phillida, Elizabeth and Gloria; St. Bernards Parish and Adrian; UW Hospitals System and especially its oncology, radiology and geriatrics departments, Dr. Watts, Dr. Cleary, Dr. Howard, Dr. Sheldon, Dr. Patel and Marie Hornes; and the thoughtful and caring staff at HospiceCare. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will be in St. Bernards Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. It is requested that flowers not be sent.
