Mary Gable

Gable, Mary MADISON - Mary Gable, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Meriter Health Care Center. She was born on the family farm on March 25, 1912, near Menominee, Ill., to Bernard and Catherine (Rolling) Neuwohner. Mary married John Albert Gable in 1939, at Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary, Menominee, Ill. She was a farm girl who married an educator and reared her two children. Mary loved flowers and had a green thumb. She was generous in giving away her flowers. Mary is survived by a son, John Anthony Gable of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Janice Anderson of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Kirsten and Erica Anderson of New York, N.Y.; and a brother, Vincent Neuwohner of Dubuque, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a sister; and four brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Entombment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, and also at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
