Obituary
Brown, Tamara Jo MCFARLAND/ MADISON - Tamara Jo Brown, age 60, found peace on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, at University Hospital, Madison, after a year long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She received a lung transplant on Dec. 12, 2006, and unfortunately the new lung never recovered and was unable to work for her. Tammy was born in Baraboo, on June 17, 1946, to Arthur and Charlotte (Kirsch) Brown. She faced her illness as she did her life and death, with extraordinary strength, courage and above all humor. Her wit was legendary as was her ability to make those around her laugh and to love her. Tammy was a devoted friend, sister, daughter, aunt and cousin. Everyone who had the privilege of meeting her was touched by her and she lives on in the hearts of all those fortunate people. Tammy is survived by her adoring sisters, Virginia Janney, Rilla (Ken) Zak and Becky (John) Larrabee; stepfather, Charles Kirsch; loving niece, Brook (Ed) Buechner; nephew, Dr. Brian (Lisa) Janney; and nieces, Caitlin and Sarah Larrabee. She is further survived by her adored grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Remington, Alan and Ashley Buechner, Maxwell and Lauren Janney; beloved godson, Ryan Fischer; many lifelong loving and adoring friends; and her devoted companions, Ninja and Cato. Tammy was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Alan Janney. It was Tammys wishes that no services be held. A Memorial visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the UW-Hospital Transplant Unit, in her name. The family is grateful for the kind, considerate and professional care she received from the UW-Hospital doctors and staff.
