Ehlenfeldt, Virginia A. McFARLAND/ COTTAGE GROVE - Virginia A. "Grandma Ginny" Ehlenfeldt, age 86, of McFarland/ Cottage Grove, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, at St. Marys Hospital. She was born on June 28, 1920, in Marshall, the daughter of Reinhold and Anna (Scheppa) Riege. Virginia worked as a computer operator and bookkeeper for Kessenichs for 18 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Cottage Grove State Historical Society, Christ the King Catholic Church and their Ladies Guild. Virginia is survived by her daughter, Janet Almond of Madison; a son, Don (Karen) Ehlenfeldt of Cottage Grove; two granddaughters, Anne and Angela Ehlenfeldt of Cottage Grove; a sister, Cecilia P. Fagan; and many dear friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at CHRIST THE KING CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5306 Main St., McFarland, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, with Father D. Stephen Smith presiding. Burial will be at St. Patricks Cemetery, Cottage Grove. A rosary service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, followed by visitation until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society or the MS Society. Virginia was a loyal friend, a very loving mother and grandmother, and one great bingo caller. She will remain in our hearts forever.
