Maria De Jesus Banuelos

Banuelos, Maria De Jesus PENITAS, TEXAS/MADISON - Maria De Jesus Banuelos, age 76, passed away on Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at her home in Penitas Texas, with her loving husband by her side. She was born on June 30, 1930, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Maria was united in marriage to Jose Banuelos in McAllen Texas on Dec. 5, 1953. Maria was a very loving, generous and hard working matriarch figure for her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and even helped raise some of her grandchildren. She loved cooking her best tasting tamales, crocheting, gardening, her pet birds and most of all she loved making sure everyone was cared for and happy. Maria helped her husband, working side by side to make their dream come true by starting their own business, La Mexicana Grocery Store in Madison. Our beautiful and precious mother, wife, grandmother, and friend will be missed dearly. Maria is survived by her husband, Jose Banuelos of Penitas, Texas; her children, Felipe (Maria) Banuelos of Oregon, Maria E. (Bart) Kinney of Arlington, Jose (Marilyn) Banuelos Jr. of Madison, Juan Banuelos of Madison, Marcos (Terri) Banuelos of DeForest, Patricio Banuelos of Janesville, Martin (Mare) Banuelos of Morrisonville, Evelio Banuelos of Madison, Adam Banuelos of Morrisonville, Cruz Banuelos of Madison, Beatriz Banuelos of Madison and Jesse Banuelos of Madison; 23 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Acosta; a son, Pedro Banuelos; and an infant son, Rafael Banuelos. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday Jan. 2, 2007. A private family service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at St. Olafs Cemetery in DeForest.
