Scott Stafford

Stafford, Scott Christopher MADISON/ PORTAGE - Scott Christopher Stafford, age 35, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2006, as a result of an automobile accident. He was the son of Wilcy and Rita (Burmester) Stafford, born and raised in Portage, on April 20, 1971. Scott was united in marriage to Courtney Harrison on Sept. 24, 2004, in Madison. Together with his nephew and friends, he played guitar in a band at the Madison Music Foundry. Scott was a wonderful loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He adored his children. Scott had big blue eyes and was always smiling, a combination that would light up any room. Once he met you, he would be a friend for life. He worked at Malys Ceramic Tile Co. Scott was Courtneys shoulder and support system. He is survived by his loving wife, Courtney; two sons, Christopher, 22 months and Alex, 10 months; a stepson, Hunter, age 7; his mother, Rita (Marshall Smith) Stafford; siblings, Diana (Alan) Stafford-Willett, Cheryl (Kevin) Sorge, Julie (David) Krauth, Margaret Stafford, Terri Jo Stafford and Brian (Lana) Stafford; father-in-law, Larry Smith; grandfather-in-law, Al Kumm; uncle, James Stafford; aunt, Ruth (Tom) Busalacchi; 13 nieces and nephews; two grandnephews; stepnieces and nephews; and cousins. Scott was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; a brother, Paul; and his mother-in-law, Rhonda Harrison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for an educational fund to be established for his children. Scott was a giving person in life and in death.
