Waldorf McFarland

McFarland, Waldorf H. "Mac" MADISON - Waldorf H. "Mac" McFarland, age 97, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006. He was born on Sept. 29, 1909, in McFarland, the son of Charles and Judith (Havey) McFarland. Waldorf was a grandson of William H. McFarland, the founder of the McFarland community. He was united in marriage to Margaret A. Kurger on Aug. 11, 1932. She preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1990. Waldorf retired from Ohmeda Medical Products, as a toolmaker and dye maker. He was a member of McFarland Lutheran Church and the McFarland Historical Society. Waldorf is survived by his nieces, Virginia (William) Crossland, Kristin (Burgess) Hurd, Karen (Jeff) Pawelko and Judith (Bill) Powers; a nephew, James (Tery) Beckman; and a sister-in-law, Eleanore Droster. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and two sisters, Anna Beckman and Charlotte Quale. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec, 21, 2006. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
