Westmore, Raymond G. "Bud" MONONA/ MADISON - Raymond G. "Bud" Westmore, age 83, a lifelong resident of Madison, passed away peacefully, on Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg. He was born on Jan. 30, 1923, in the sixth ward in Madison, to Emil and Mabel (Fadness) Westmore. Raymond graduated from Madison East High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 until 1945. Raymond married Harriet Spaeni on Nov. 9, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a carpet installer for F.E. Seybold. Raymond was a member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church. He was active for many years in the Doric Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Raymond was a drummer with the Zor Shrine Pipes and Drums Unit, and a proud member of the Carpenters Union for more than 40 years. He loved fishing and knew the Madison area lakes like the back of his hand. Raymond traveled extensively with his wife, Harriet. He was an energetic and courageous man, with an adventurous spirit. Raymond is survived by his wife, Harriet Westmore; a son, Dwight Westmore of Manitowish Waters; a daughter, Mary (Kenneth) Raboin of Madison; five grandchildren, Tamara Westmore, Kristin (Keith) Brann, Danielle Westmore, Maxwell Raboin and William Raboin; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Albert Westmore; and a sister, Mildred Todd. A memorial service will be held at LAKE EDGE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4032 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, with the Rev. Richard Blomker presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The family wishes to thank the staff and doctors at Hospice, for their gentle and respectful care.
