Ronald Wick

Wick, Ronald Keith WISCONSIN DELLS/ MADISON - Ronald Wick, age 20, disappeared from our world in February 1961. He and his best friend, Carl Stoltz, of Lake Delton, went driving on the ice, on Lake Waubesa and were never heard from again. The Madison Police Department, Dane County Sheriffs Department, Dane County Sheriffs Diving Team and Dane County Coroners Office, worked many years on finding the boys and solving this case. Great thanks from Rons family are due to all of them. Detective Dave Miller, Julie Foley, Leslie Eisenberg, a forensic anthropologist and Deputy Coroner Peter Thorpe, also worked many weeks for the case to be closed and bring closure for the family. Not a day goes by that we havent thought of Ron and what his life could have been. His mother passed on a couple of years ago, not knowing what had happened to him, but she had never given up hope he would return home. Ron was born on April 14, 1941. He attended Wisconsin Dells High School and later worked for Wisco Hardware in Madison. Ron was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers. He is survived by his two brothers, Bob (Dorothy) Wick of Wisconsin Dells and Dennis (Barb) Wick of Madison; a sister, Janet (Gary) Hall of Madison; an aunt, Leona Wick; an uncle, Ray Hanson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was preceded in death by his father, Nels Wick; and since his disappearance, his mother, Margaret (Wick) Knuteson; and brother, Donald Wick have passed away. A memorial service was held for Ronnie in 1968, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Madison. Rons ashes will be privately interred with his mother at Roselawn Memorial Park in the future.
