Smith, David James MARSHALL - David James Smith, age 53, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006. He was born on Dec. 23, 1952, in Madison, the son of James and Marjorie Smith. David graduated from Monona Grove High School in 1972. He worked for Wisconsin Fineblanking for more than 20 years. David loved golfing, fishing, swimming, turkey hunting, boating, cooking, finding morel mushrooms and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his partner in life, Debra Thomas; his mom, Marjorie Gabower; two brothers, Mike (Ellen) Smith and Jeff "Buck" (Kathy Heller) Smith; three step-children, Cheryl (Bruce) Boothe, David (Dawnrae) Smith and Issac Smith; and five step-grandchildren, Jessica, Michael and Jared Boothe and Kennedy and Cayla Smith. David was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHENS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona, at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, with the Rev. Bruce Burnside presiding. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of ones choice in Davids name.
