McCallum, Archie Donald OREGON - Archie Donald McCallum, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, surrounded by his family at Skaalen Home, Stoughton. He was born on Nov. 18, 1925, in Oshkosh, the son of Donald and Edna (Davis) McCallum. On Oct. 25, 1952, he married Blanche Richter. They just celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Archie was a loving, compassionate husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He worked in Juneau, as a DHIA milk tester. Archie served the many local farmers with good cheer, as manager of Oregon Milling Co., for more than 25 years. He continued his career in agriculture with Oregon Farm Service and then later Mounds Ag Service. During his retirement, he cherished spending time with his family, working for Trachete Building Systems, as well as his long time friends Symdon Motors. He was a devout of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church, the mens group, ushered and ministered the cup at Sunday Mass. Archie was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 10272, a very active member of the Oregon Chamber of Commerce, serving as president and was named Honorary Oregon Chamber Member and Small Business Man of the Year. Archie is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Blanche; his children, Lavonne Nedlose of Hayward, Linda (John) McCallum-Miller of Napa, Calif., Craig (Cindy) McCallum of Madison, Lisa (Bill) Harrington of Madison and Curt (Janis) McCallum of Middleton; son-in-law, Randy Nedlose of Hayward; his siblings, Dorothy (Edgar) Wetzel of Waupun, Betty Reilly of Horicon and Roy (Darlene) McCallum of Horicon; 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Darcie, Jaime, Christopher, Cale, Cameron, Jaron, Zachary, Ariana and Samantha; and a great-granddaughter, Ana Marie. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Doris Ziebell; and a brother-in-law, Jim Reilly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, with Father Bill Connell presiding. Burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery with military rites conducted. Visitation will be at the church from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, with a scripture service at 4 p.m. and pass-in-review will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the HospiceCare or the Alzheimers Association in Archies name.
