Burek, Stanley MONONA - Stan Burek, age 78, of Monona, died on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006. He was born on Jan. 31, 1928, in Wausau, the son of Celia (Torzewski) and Stanley L. Burek. Stan is survived by two daughters, Sue (Dan) Long and Mary (Mark) Faber; and five grandchildren, Mike, Brian, Nick, Katie and Caitlin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Peneau) Burek, in 1987. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, HospiceCare Inc. and Main Street Quarters.
