Obituary

Schroeder, Lyle W. MADISON - Lyle W. Schroeder, age 88, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on January 22, 1918 in Augusta, the son of Herman and Russie (Wood) Schroeder. Lyle served in the Army from January 1942 to January 1946. On July 20, 1945 he married Helen Sherman in Madison. Lyle worked many years at Gardner Bakery. After retiring, he worked at Stokely Canning Co. for several years. He belonged to Middleton American Legion Post 275. In his younger years he loved hunting and fishing; and would travel to Wyoming to hunt elk. He was hard-working, kind and very generous and was willing to help anyone who needed it. Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Helen; two step-daughters Shirley Klevgard and Beverly (Cameron) Bryan; a brother, Kenneth (Danielle) Schroeder; grandchildren, Bill Bryan, Tim Bryan, Carrie Bissonette, Sheri Knepel and Glenn Klevgard; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers; and six sisters. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, November 29, 2006. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
