Greene, Elizabeth J. "Betty" MADISON / MILWAUKEE - Elizabeth J. "Betty" Greene, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, in Milwaukee. She was born in 1921, in Baraboo, the daughter of Warren and Lillian (Gropp) Luce. Betty graduated from Baraboo High School in 1939. In October 1944, she was united in marriage to John D. Greene, in Austin, Texas, where he was stationed after serving his country during World War II. Betty enjoyed listening to music, dancing, shopping, taking a "dip" in the water, and the Florida lifestyle. Most importantly, she truly loved her family. Betty is survived by her four daughters, Sue Banaszak, Kathryn (John) Paske, Patti Miner and Joni (Jim) Groskreutz; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances and Joan; three brothers, Bill, Bob and Joel; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; two sisters; and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., at 1 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, with Rev. Ben Ehrets presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service on Thursday. My deepest sympathy, love and prayers to the family of my dear sister-in-law. I have very fond memories of Betty, the fondest of which is when she introduced her brother, my beloved husband of fifty plus years. I too, remember how she loved to go 'dipping' as she and I did many times. Pee Wee's Nest and Devil's Lake on some cold mornings and days. Can't say how at Pee Wee's Nest! What great fun it was! And never to be forgotten treasured memories!
