Marie Whitefoot

Whitefoot, Marie K. MARSHALL / MONONA - Marie K. Whitefoot, age 98, went to be with her Lord on Sunday morning, Oct. 22, 2006. She was born to Peder and Emma (Erickson) Westbye on May 30, 1908, in Stoughton. Marie was baptized on Aug. 23, 1908, in Stoughton and was confirmed on July 16, 1922, at Peace Lutheran, Sun Prairie. On June 9, 1928, she was united in marriage with Lester F. Whitefoot in Sun Prairie. Marie was one of the last surviving members of her high school graduating class in Sun Prairie. She taught one year at York Township School, after attending Stoughton Normal School. Marie proudly served the State of Wisconsin, working for many governors. She was active in church organizations at Eastside Lutheran Church. Marie is survived by her children, Arline M. Hoenecke of Winneconne, Lester (Wilma) Whitefoot of Marquette, and Sharon (Robert) McDowell of Marshall, where Marie made her home; nine grandchildren, David, Jon, Mark (Joan), and Joe Hoenecke, Ralph and Tim Whitefoot, Gretchen (Tim) Soukup, Cindy (Pete) Esch and Michelle (Damon) Bryant; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings; and her husband, Lester. Funeral services will be held at ST. PAULS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 204 Deerfield Road, Marshall, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, with the Rev. Mark Schoeneck presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Bell Tower Fund.
