Karen Severson

Severson, Karen Marie COTTAGE GROVE - Karen Marie Severson, age 49, of Cottage Grove, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on Sept. 16, 1957, in Madison, a daughter of LaVerne and Phyllis (Hanke) Anderson. Karen married Tim Severson on June 23, 1979, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Madison. She loved riding in her Corvette, attending car shows, hockey, gardening, Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, marching with the Capitalaires, and was a NASCAR fan. Karen is survived by her husband, Tim; a brother, Mark (Carmen) Anderson; a sister, Lisa (Steve) Wetton; brother-in-law, Tod (Stacia) Severson; nieces, Erica and Leah; nephews, Eric, Derek and Logan; and many other relatives, godchildren and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive at 12 noon on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, to be distributed to Karens favorite charities.
