Theresa Boberg

Boberg, Theresa L. MADISON - Theresa L. Boberg, passed fearlessly surrounded by her family while holding her eight day old granddaughter. The daughter of Alvin V. and Irene (Schank) Boberg, she was born Oct. 1, 1950, in Arcadia. Theresa worked at Farmers Union Grain Terminal in St. Paul, Minn. and Armour Foods in Eau Claire from 1971 through 1985. She was married to Allan J. Scoles and had one son, Andrew J. Theresa moved to the Madison area and was employed as program assistant for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. She orchestrated numerous national conventions until her health forced her to retire in 2002. Theresa was instrumental in providing assistance with the North American Industrial Hemp Council (NAIHC), where she continued to work at home until her passing. She joined the Bosom Buddies in 1999 and was a treasured member of a dinner group. Theresa raised money for breast cancer groups and donated hair to Locks of Love. She enjoyed riding motorcycles for over 25 years and joined the Sisters of the Moon Chapter of the Women in the Wind, and was a member of Women on Wheels. Theresa is survived by her son, Andrew "Mud Man" (Heather McKee) Scoles; a special friend, Harland Venden; two brothers, Jim (Darlene) Boberg of Arcadia and Alvin W. (Carol) Boberg of Lampasas, Texas; three sisters, Joyce (Richard) Sobotta of Eleva, Rosie (Gene) Comero of Rochester, Minn., and Mary (Harold) Ryan of Arcadia; one granddaughter, Areyes Jin Scoles; nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents. A memorial Mass will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, with Father Bill Connell presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a scripture service to be held at 7 p.m. Friends may also call on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
