Obituary

Linderud, Helen Marie STOUGHTON - Helen Marie Linderud, age 87, of Stoughton, passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimers disease, on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at the Nazareth House, Stoughton. She was born on March 14, 1919, in Stoughton, the daughter of the late Andrew M. and Inga Quam. Helen was united in marriage to Norris A. Linderud on June 21, 1941, in Stoughton. She was a writer of the Stoughton News for The Capital Times for 10 years. Helen was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church and of Circle 15. She was a Cub Scouts Den Mother and 4-H leader. Along with her husband, she was an avid world traveler. Helen is survived by her three children, William (Deborah), Naomi (Ron) Steele and Susan (Michael) Showers, all of Stoughton; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer and Arika Linderud, Lani Kohrt, Brian, Scott, Richard and Andrew Steele, Jarrod, Brant and Brianna Showers; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Virgene Quam; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Arnold; her parents; two brothers, Jerome and Irving Quam; and a sister, Pearl Becker. Funeral services will be held at FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 301 E. Washington Ave., Stoughton, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, with the Rev. Dick Halom presiding. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church or Nazareth Health Care Center.
