Dorothy Lehnherr

Lehnherr, Dorothy M. OREGON - Dorothy M. Lehnherr, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at Oregon Manor Nursing Home. She was born on Sept. 4, 1911, in Independence, Iowa to Alsop and Margaret Palmer. Dorothy was married to Rudy Lehnherr on Oct. 9, 1929, in Marshfield. They moved to Verona in 1948 and resided in the Oregon/ Verona area ever since. She volunteered her services at area hospitals and nursing homes. Dorothy enjoyed baking cinnamon rolls for the residents at Genesis, gardening, canning and cleaning. In her younger years she enjoyed picking strawberries for a penny a quart. During her last nine years at Oregon Manor, Dorothy loved the care provided by the nursing home. She continued to tell everyone what a wonderful place it was and thanked the Lord everyday for the good food, good bed, that it didnt smell and the very good people taking care of her. Dorothy was happy to share her faith with many others. She is survived by her son, Jim (Rose) Lehnherr of Oregon; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Lehnherr, of Mount Horeb; and six grandchildren, Kurt, Mike, Craig, Gary, Lori and Mark. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Donald; and a great-grandson, Cole. A memorial celebration will be held at HILLCREST BIBLE CHURCH, 752 E. Netherwood Road, Oregon, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, with the Rev. Scott Ziegler presiding. Friends may call from noon until time of services on Friday.
