Leila Engel

Engel, Leila A. SHEBOYGAN/ POYNETTE - Leila A. Engel, age 93, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006. She was born on Sept. 20, 1913, in the Town of Sheboygan, the daughter of Alfred M. and Laura Ahrens Walters. Leila attended Kohler and Sheboygan schools, and graduated from Mount Sinai School of Nursing, Milwaukee in 1934. She lived and worked in Madison for 40 years. Leila was active with the Girl Scouts, P.T.A. and Bethel Lutheran Church. Since 1979, she has lived in the rural Sheboygan area and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Service Guild and vacation Bible School. Leila is survived by her three grandsons and their families, Mark (Linda) Clement, Daniel (Sue) Clement and David (Sherry) Clement; and seven great-grandchildren, Allison, Timothy, Stephanie and Alex Clement, Harrison and Benjamin Bucholtz, and Jessy Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; and two daughters, Judith L. Engel and Joan K. Hanson. A memorial visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006.
