Obituary
Ptaszynski, Virginia MONONA - Virginia Ptaszynski, age 79, passed away from a brief illness at St. Marys Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006. A wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Virginia was born in Kenosha, on July 30, 1927, to Louis and Edna Ziesemer. She completed her R.N. training at Columbus Hospital in Chicago and worked as a surgical nurse. Virginia married Arthur P. Ptaszynski on Feb. 11, 1950. She was a dedicated, warm and caring mother, taking pride and joy in her family gatherings. Virginia enjoyed traveling, including her visits to Arizona, to see her son in Washington, and her many travels with Art to various casinos. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Monona. Virginia is survived by her husband, Art; three sons, Michael (Patsy) of Washington, Gregory (Peggy) of Madison, and Gene (Chris) of Black Earth; two daughters, Ann (Larry) Schuler of Stoughton, and Christine Gardenier (fiance, David Lawson) of Cambridge; six grandchildren, Adam and Ryan (Pam) Schuler, Jenna and Steven (Ashley) Gardenier, and Josh and Nick Ptaszynski; and a great-grandson, Logan Schuler. She is preceded in death by her parents; and an infant daughter, Eileen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5101 Schofield St., Monona, at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, with Father John Meinholz presiding. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
