Edward Gannon

Gannon, Edward J. MADISON - Edward J. Gannon, age 83, passed away on Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at Karmenta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on March 6, 1923, in Madison, the son of Wilbert and Adeline (Mayan) Gannon. Edward served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a mechanic for the City of Madison, retiring after 37 years. Edward also worked part-time as a bartender for 26 years, at many establishments around Madison. He enjoyed bowling. Edward is survived by his children, Wayne (Monica) Gannon of DeForest, Dennis Gannon of Texas, Ellen (LeRoy) Starr of Texas, Tom (Kathi) Gannon of Sun Prairie, Pat Gannon of Colorado, Mike Gannon of Arkansas, Kathy McDonald of Madison, Gene Gannon of Madison, and Rick Lyons of Madison; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edith (Louis) McCauley of Green Bay, and Lois Land of Texas; and a brother-in-law, Mert Gunnelson of Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Dan and Gary Gannon; two wives, Margerie Albricht in 1962, and Delores Starry in 1992; two brothers, Dale (Beverly) and Eugene (Marilyn) Gannon; and a sister, Wilma Gunnelson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
