Sally LuAnn Plunkett

ARENA - Sally LuAnn Plunkett, age 71, of Arena, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026. She was born on April 28, 1955, to Roger and Barbara Brenz.

 Sally graduated from Belvidere High School in 1973 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Maranatha Baptist University. On June 27, 1981, she married Randy Plunkett at Calvary Baptist Church in Belvidere, Ill.

Throughout her life, Sally committed herself to the field of education. Beyond her professional life, she loved gardening and landscaping and found joy in nurturing all things that grow. Sally loved her cats and enjoyed doing cat puzzles. She dedicated many years to writing a novel. She often provided meals for the hospital staff who cared for her. Sally cherished supporting her grandchildren at their swimming events. Her family was very important to her.

Sally is survived by her husband, Randy Plunkett; daughter, Rachel (Dave) Marx; son, Joel (Heather) Plunkett; and grandchildren, Kenley Marx, Schuylar Marx, Derek Plunkett, and Ashton Plunkett, as well as her sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Barbara Brenz.

 The family would like to thank the staff at the Carbone cancer center and the infusion center at UW hospital for the amazing care they provided to Sally.
