Obituary

NEENAH - Diane F. Baudhuin, age 89, of Neenah, died on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Oak Park Place Memory Care surrounded by her family.  She was born on December 3, 1936, in Brussels, Wis., the daughter of the late Harry and Rose Bournoville. Diane graduated from Bussels High School and then earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Stout State College.  She married Allen Baudhuin, her soul mate and best friend on July 25, 1959, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brussels.

Diane was a stay-at-home Mom until August 1974 when she went to work at Hoover Elementary School in Neenah. She worked for the Neenah Joint School District for 28 years. After working at Hoover School for 16 years, she moved to the school district’s administration building until her retirement in March 2002.  In 1999, Diane became a member of the Neenah Joint School District’s Quarter Century Club.

Since 1963, Diane was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah, where she did volunteer work as well as taught religious education classes for several years. Besides volunteering at church, Diane was also active in her sons’ boy scout programs, volunteered at Theda Clark Hospital in their Health and Sciences library, along with knitting baby hats for the Theda Clark nursery. She had over a thousand hours in volunteer work at Theda Clark Hospital.

Diane loved to travel with Al, along with her family and friends taking road trips, cruises and bus tours. In 2018, she took her three sons and their wives on the Rhine River cruise from Amsterdam to Germany in which they hiked, biked, visited a vineyard and made wonderful memories. Along with traveling, Diane loved the outdoors and being active: biking, hiking, bowling, waterskiing, cross-country skiing, cards, games and in her recent years, she loved to go for outside walks.

Diane was an incredible baker and a great cook. Every dish was made from scratch and there was always plenty of food on the table. No one ever left hungry. She was notorious for her desserts!  The grandchildren could always count on Grandma having frozen chocolate chip cookies from her freezer-the only way to eat a chocolate chip cookie!

In August 2022, Diane sold her condo and moved to Island Shores Independent Living in Neenah and resided there for two years. In January 2024 she moved to Madison as her memory was declining.

Diane is survived by her three sons, Scott (Teresa) Baudhuin, Kaukauna, Wis., Jeff (Lisa) Baudhuin, Cottage Grove, Wis., and Jay (Janine) Baudhuin, Slinger, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Nicholas (Stephanie) Baudhuin, Milliken, Colo., Stephanie (Andy) Kollmann, Lakeville, Minn., Michael (Emily) Baudhuin, Kaukauna, Wis., Mason Baudhuin, Milwaukee, Wis., Hayley Baudhuin (Gareth Howe) Madison, Wis., Megan (Christian) Vollbrecht, Sheboygan, Wis., and Kaitlyn (Tyler) Luehring, Mayville, Wis.; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; sister, Shirley Bournoville; brother, Lee (Karen) Bournoville; parents, Harry and Rose; parents-in-law, John and Myrtle Baudhuin; and sister-in-law, Almere (Lloyd) Gerondale.
