Obituary
STOUGHTON - Roger D. Nettum, age 98, passed away peacefully at his home in Stoughton, Wis., on October 21, 2026.
Born on January 21, 1928, to Alvin Nettum and Mamie (Johnson) Nettum, Roger was a lifelong resident of Stoughton. He lived a long life marked by hard work, integrity, and always helping others. The stories he shared about growing up in Stoughton gave a true perspective of what life was like in earlier days and how much the community had changed
Roger served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a business owner in Stoughton from the mid-1960s through the early 1970s. He later worked at Dvorak Chevrolet, finishing out his career and retiring after many years.
Roger was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with those he loved. He was an avid Packers fan and hobbyist. He enjoyed photography and woodworking and had a real talent for making just the right gift for his grandchildren, gifts that have become cherished memories.
What many would consider sacrifices for his family, Roger considered it to be simply what you do. His wisdom, humor, and character touched the lives of many and will be remembered by all who knew him. Throughout his 98 years, Roger witnessed tremendous changes in the world and met each chapter of life with resilience.
Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorraine (Foster) Nettum; and his daughter, Deborah "Debbie" Nettum. He is survived by his children, Dianne (Larry) Yeske, Denise, David, and Duane (Sue); grandchildren, Joanna Cree (Jason), Dalton Voepel, Brooke Kriebs (Braydon), and Haley Gaudioso (Damon); along with great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and strong values and will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
“Those we love can never be more than a thought away, for as long as there's a memory, they live in our hearts to stay.”
