Sharon Dyreson

STOUGHTON - Sharon Dyreson, age 72, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026. She was born on April 12, 1954, the daughter of Frieda Lenz (Dietert) and Glennvood Ernst Lenz. 

Sharon graduated from Seguin High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in music education from Texas Lutheran College. On February 19, 1977, she was united in marriage to Tim Dyreson in Seguin, Texas. They were married for 46 years until he passed away in 2023.

After high school, Sharon participated in an exchange student program in Halifax, Nova Scotia through Rotary International. During college, she worked as a waitress at Varsity Inn in Seguin, where she met Tim. After college, Sharon worked in billing at various companies before becoming a teacher at the Nixon-Smiley Elementary School in South Texas. After having children, she became a homemaker and briefly homeschooled her children.

Sharon had a gift for singing and was a frequent participant in church choirs. She also played and taught piano. Her caring nature and love of kids made her a frequent babysitter for her friends. She loved watching sports, especially when her children were playing. Sharon found joy in caring for her pets and had a green thumb, tending to her garden and houseplants with great care. She was also an avid viewer of the television series Law and Order.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Jana (Quin) Roeben; sons, Aaron (Manasa) Dyreson and Brock Dyreson; grandson, Beckett Roeben; sister, Connie Lenz; and sisters- and brothers-in-law, Deb Whitford, Shelley (Keith) Doris, Eddie (Gayle) Dyreson and Tommy Dyreson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tim Dyreson; infant son, Eric; and brother-in-law, Gene Whitford.
