Janice Marie "Jan" Adler

MADISON - Janice Marie “Jan” Adler, age 82, died peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the UW Hospital. She was born in Madison, on March 6, 1944, to Richard Soderberg and Edna Dempsey, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Jan attended Monona Grove High School and married the love of her life, Gary Adler, on July 19, 1969. She was the senior buyer for Madison Kipp Corporation until her retirement.

Janice was a devoted card maker, making approximately 300 greeting cards a week. They were truly magical, just like her. Janice was always positive and ready to share a smile with anyone at anytime.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Lynne Bouchard; grandson, Kraig (Lyn Hill) Bouchard; stepbrother, David Sherman; and sister-in-law, Phylliss Soderberg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard (Gerri) Soderberg and Edna (Lewey) Dempsey; brother, Larry Soderberg; husband, Gary Adler; and son-in-law, Michael Bouchard.

A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2026. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
