BERGENFIELD, NJ - Ellen Louise Mumme, age 88, of Bergenfield, NJ, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1938, the daughter of William and Mildred (Hansel) Muhlhahn.
Ellen graduated from Teaneck High School in Teaneck, NJ, where she met her beloved Carl Mumme. In 1958, Ellen and Carl were married in Bogota, NJ and for 60 years raised their two children and created many wonderful memories until his passing in 2018.
Ellen was known for her warm hospitality and dedication to her home and family. She took great enjoyment in visiting Atlantic City, partaking in teatime, watching Wheel of Fortune, and playing bingo - activities that brought joy and relaxation to her days.
Ellen is survived by her son, Thomas (Jennifer) Mumme; grandsons, Nicholas (Emily) Mumme and Zachary Mumme; great-grandson, Theodore Mumme; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Kathleen Mumme; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents, William and Mildred; daughter, Carolyn (Billy) McGloin; and brothers, Bill, Jack and Bob Muhlhahn.
