Obituary
MADISON - Marie Annabelle Eide, age 99, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in Madison. Marie was born to Edward and Emma Schneider on June 8, 1927, in Chippewa Falls and lived her childhood life on the family farm near Stanley.
Marie’s life began on the family farm in northern Wisconsin. While she didn’t particularly enjoy milking the cows, she did enjoy feeding the cows and going out into the fields to round them up and bring them back to the barn. Marie excelled in school, graduated from high school in Stanley and married Mart in September of 1947. Mart had recently returned to Wisconsin after serving overseas in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Over the next few years, Mart (working for a construction company) and Marie moved to several different cities in Wisconsin, Indiana and Kentucky but eventually settled in Madison with their five children. Marie was a loving wife and mother who worked many part-time jobs through the years to help support the family.
Marie is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Schneider of Wausau and Vi Mahr of Boyd; as well as her three daughters, Margie (Ken), Marsha (Phil) and Mari (Pat); two sons, Marshall (Peggy) and Mark (Mary); stepchildren, Marsha, Linda and Jim (Beth); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Delores and Margaret; brother, Robert; daughter, Mary (who died at birth); husband, Martin; and second husband, Lawrence “Larry.”
