March 14, 1981 - October 04, 2026
Obituary
Jonathan James Campbell, beloved son, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Jonathan was born on March 14, 1981, in Madison, Wis., to Jim and Sue (Barman) Campbell. He graduated from Middleton High School in 1999 and then spent a decade working at the Bruce Company before returning to school to earn his degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. That achievement led him to TDS Telecom, where he started as an intern and worked his way up to Supply Chain Business Systems Analyst.
Jonathan lived a life defined by a genuine love for the people and pastimes he held dear. Sports were always an important part of Jonathan’s life. He played football, baseball, golf and bowled throughout the years, and was an avid fan of just about any sport imaginable. But he was especially a proud supporter of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Chicago Bears.
Beyond sports, Jonathan filled his time with fishing, live concerts, fantasy football, poker nights, podcasts, binge-worthy TV series, and the occasional casino trip. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, who will remember him for his warmth, humor, generosity and kindness.
Jonathan is survived by his parents, Jim and Sue; brother, Kevin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
Please join the family to celebrate Jonathan’s life at HOLIDAY INN MADISON WEST, 1109 Fourier Drive, Madison, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at UW Health Carbone Cancer Center, IU Health Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis, and Agrace HospiceCare for their extraordinary kindness, compassion and exceptional care throughout this difficult journey over the last 14 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Testicular Cancer Society or Agrace HospiceCare in Jonathan’s memory. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
