STOUGHTON - Robert W. “Bob” Niehus, age 90, of Stoughton, passed away on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at UW Hospital and Clinics. He was born on Dec. 8, 1933, in Madison, the son of George Niehus and Evelyn (Adams) Burton.

Bob graduated from Madison West High School in 1952, where he excelled in both football and wrestling. He proudly served in the U.S. Army where he met the love of his life, Gerda Lausch, in Germany. They were married on March 10, 1956, in Kaiserslautern, Germany.

Bob owned and operated Westside Cabinet & Millwork Inc. for several decades. He enjoyed spending his retirement traveling around the countryside with his wife of 67 years, Gerda. He also enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em with his friends and going to the slot tournaments.

Bob was one-of-a-kind. He will be fondly remembered for his contagious laugh, his humor, his love for his family, and being there for anyone that needed help.  He will be missed by many.

Dear Family in mourning We are deeply sorry to hear about Bob passing away. Our thoughts are with you and Gerda during this difficult time. On trust, that Bob is now without any afflictions, we are grateful to have accompanied him several times on his journey through life. LIFE is the biggest secret but LOVE is the glorious secret! Hence he had the greatest chance to grow 90 years old. We will remember Bob as the good-hearted soul that he was. May your happy memories give you peace and comfort during this callenging time. In caring sympathy Kirsten & Rolf with Family
