This picture was taken when we met during one of his medical visit to Milwaukee on Friday 7/12/2024. He called me while I was biking at Whitefish Bay. He is leaving the next day to Madison. I was so happy to see him and we chatted for 3 hours at a cafe on E Silver Spring . It was a fine day and we sat outside. He told me Florida is never as green as the summer of Wisconsin. I told him I don’t love California as I love Wisconsin. We both felt sad as many of our old friends left for California. I thought of Edward Lin is still in Milwaukee, actually raising a big family. So, I sneakily took this picture and sent to Edward on WeChat. I downloaded WeChat and registered for him on his last trip to Milwaukee when I treated him a lunch at Sze Chuan Restaurant (麻辣演绎)and had him activated his account during lunch. But he said he never used it. He seems never was interested in social media. He is a guy down to earth, never use word of affirmation but love friends in his act of services. He offered to drive me and pick up to MKE all the time even it’s very early in the day. He shared happy time out of his expertise in outdoor boating, fishing, gardening, etc.. I can’t be grateful enough for him to take my Dad fishing with him while I was still working. He also invited friends enjoying Chinese food out of his accumulated points at Potawatomi Casino. He accepted friends to his Florida house without asking for any cost. He is a genuine friend with all his resources and heart. My Chinese garlic chive roots in my California backyard are actually from his sharing. I remember his generous sharing of his freshest garlic chives and the home grown Shark Fin Melon(鱼翅瓜)! The gorgeous pink peonies from the side of his house are the prettiest flower I have ever seen in my life. My only boating and fishing on Lake Winnebago was on his fishing boat and I caught a 19” walleye with his help of course. We are both straight forward and some kind of blunt. We chatted like fighting in other people’s eyes. I enjoyed the time with him all the time! I learned a lot from him, too. I can go on and on with the happy memories with Mr. Hsia (we call him Mr. Shark, you know)…. I’m just so sad he left so quickly and too soon. I regret I should have contacted him more often. He was such a nice human being with great character. I’ll miss him. / Iris written on Tuesday 8/5/2025 in Milwaukee WI

In memory of our dear friend Wenchen (A.K.A 老夏 or old Sha): We began our close friendships with you since 2016. That was the year that we bought our retirement unit at BAV with your help and have moved there like snow birds for the last ten winters. We had so many local trips together while there in Clearwater areas. We learned very quickly that you and your daughter Jessica were very close because she called and spoke with you almost every time that you were with us either inside our car driving to some places or in one of the beaches there or during our walks. You went with us to almost every beaches in Clearwater in the first year or so for example Clearwater beach, Belleair beach and St. Pete beach etc.. We enjoyed every moments together. You took us to many parks ( i.e. Eagle lake park, Sand key park and Lake Seminole park etc.) in Clearwater for walk. You explored those ahead of time so you knew those well enough to lead us the way. Those were simple but fun time we enjoyed together. We attached several pictures to share with your friends and relatives. In addition, you loved going to Hard Rock in Tampa to play the slots. We had gone with you multiple times and vise versa over the years. We enjoyed the beef noodle soups and ox tails soups together which you considered those one of the best in the country. We shared your thoughts pretty much. You had more lucks than any one of us with the slots. You hit the jack pots 2 or 3 times. That was considered big wins. As a result, the Hard Rock had to removed those machines. My wife often asked that you not forget to treat us if you hit the jack pot once more. Your famous last words always was "me Old Sha loves to treat." You were regarded by me and my wife as a pioneer to move to the retirement village in Florida. We paid a visit a year later , loved it and then moved there the next year. Other couples from Brookfield did the same thing. Over the years, we had our friends (husband and wife) come to visit us from Wisconsin mostly Brookfield. We all had great times taking them to beaches, parks , river walks, local Chinese restaurants or cruises from Tampa. It is sad to see you go suddenly like this. But it was somewhat a relief that you had little/no pains or suffering. We walk in our village on a regular basis. We often stopped by your house to say hello to you. You were happy and relaxed every time you saw us. We are sure that you enjoyed our company as much as we did on you. Now that you are in heaven nobody would be in the house to respond any more as before. It is sad to lose you as a friend and neighbor. A huge loss in our mind. You and I went to the same high school in Taipei but you were 7 years senior to me. So I treated you like a big brother. Luckily, we recently had opportunity to invite you one last time to come to Milwaukee in June for brunch with the Suns’ family. We had good communications and lots of fun moments together. During that time we realized you were a little bit short of breath and your face turned quite yellowish. In addition, you had little energy for anything else after meals. Nobody thought that was our last get together!! Very sad! I am sorry to hear of this unexpected loss of your life. May you find peace and comfort in heaven. We will treasure our memories of you. Our sympathies to your families and relatives. Good Bye our friend! Jimmy and Chishin Chou周海辰曾其新 08/08/2025
