Ruth Ann Aurelio

PHILADELPHIA, Pa./MCFARLAND-Ruth A. Aurelio, age 91, of McFarland, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018.  She was born on April 14, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Otto and Violet (Brown) Rothkegel.  From the time she was a little girl, Ruth dreamed of being a singer. She started her entertainment career singing with the Glenn Miller Band under the stage name of Ruthie Rogers. She met the love of her life, comedian Benny Hayden, and they were married in 1953.  They traveled the world as the comedy team of Hayden and Rogers. During her career, Ruth had the privilege of working with such stars as Tony Bennett, Joey Bishop, Johnnie Ray, Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. After their retirement from show business, Ruth and Ben moved to Wisconsin to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Gina (Tom) Krupsky and Jessie (Tim) Evans; granddaughters, Alicia Krupsky and Rina Krupsky; grandson, Andrew Evans; and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benjamin; and sister, Joan Billingham.  Funeral services will be held at MCFARLAND LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5529 Marsh Rd., McFarland, at 1 p.m. on Friday May 25, 2018, with the Rev. Timothy Dean presiding. Burial will be held at Lawnview Cemetery in Elkins Park, Pa.
