I just saw Nadine's obit in the Wis. State Journal. I was very lucky to know Nadine in two arenas. I rowed with her at Mendota, where she rowed with all her might. And I would see her at the State Capitol when I worked in Capitol Press Room. My sympathies to Nadine's family and all her friends. I am so lucky I knew her. She was smart, fun, big-hearted and super cool. Thanks to her family for sharing her. Joanne Haas

Tom Loftus My sincere condolences to Sam and the Gratz family. Nadine will be remembered as charming, smiling , a pleasure to work with and a great public servant! Her work in the Assembly and Senate was exemplary . She made many a Democratic politician look good. I was lucky to have known her. Tom Loftus

My deepest condolences to Sam, Joel and Laura. We in the Capitol circles who had the pleasure and honor of working with Nadine who always handled her responsibilities effectively and with grace and class appreciated her enormously. She was a wealth of information, especially on health care issues, which is a passion she illuminated. I hope to make the Memorial Gathering in her honor. Peter Barca

Hello Sam, I suspect it has been 40 years or more since I have spent any time with you and/or Nadine. I do, however, remember you both fondly, if not clearly. Please know that I am thankful to have known Nadine and that I am holding you and your family before the throne of God, praying that God's peace and caring will ease your pain and carry you through this difficult time into the new future which awaits you all. (Please give my greeting to Nadine's brother, Don, too, as I remember him from times at Pine Lake Camp.) In the Circle of God's love, Ken Gelhaus, UMC Clergy, Retired.
