Inez K. Short

One of my best memories is that she would always give Uncle John a little love tap and tell him to leave us kids alone after some constant harassment from him, which we all loved. In the last few years she would come down to our house and sit in the backyard with Aud and Skip and have a couple toddies with us for parties. I found out a couple years ago that her memory was starting to fail her, so every time she would come down after that, I would greet her at the car with " Hi Inez, it's Hal". She would immediately give me that love tap and say, ," I know who you are". I would then look at her and say, "Just testing", and she would smile and give me that wonderful laugh of hers. We will miss you very much. Love Hal, Kim Caleb, Shawna, Justin, Eleana, and Declan.

Aunt Inez was always a very fun person and loved family, good jokes, and had the best laugh. She and Uncle John introduced me to golf. When I was young our family often traveled to visit their family because they were so much fun to be with (even if they did tease the living heck out of us: a big trait of the Shorts). I also spent part of one summer staying with them when I was in middle school and she treated me just like one of her own. We will all truly miss her. God bless Aunt Inez. Audrey, Dawn, Helen and family I am so sorry for your loss. I'll always remember Inez fondly, as Brad said, she was always so much fun and cheerful. One of my best memories is in the early 80's when Brad and I drove to visit Inez and John in Indiana and we drove from there (with Pearl also) to Knoxville for the World's Fair. They also took us to the horse races at Louisville Downs as I recall. I am happy I had the good fortune to know both Inez and John. Wish I could be there. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
