June 17, 1992 - April 19, 2016
Obituary
OREGON-Melissa Suzanne Robinson, age 23, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee after suffering a severe stroke. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 17, 1992, in Madison, the daughter of Mark and Kathleen (Call) Robinson.
Melissa was a 2010 graduate of Oregon High School. She played flute and was a member of the Shadow Armada (Oregon High School Marching Band) for six years. Following high school Melissa attended Madison College to become a Veterinary Technician and graduated in 2015, with an associate's degree. While she was studying to become a Veterinary Technician, Melissa worked at Country View Veterinary Service in Oregon, Wis., Merritt Equine Hospital in Illinois, Village Animal Clinic in Oregon, Wis., and the Oregon Walgreens as a photo specialist. After graduation Melissa worked as a LTE Veterinary Technician in the small animal CCU at UW Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Following her time at the UW Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Melissa took a permanent position as a Veterinary Technician at Country View Veterinary Service and continued to work at Walgreens on Sundays.
From a very young age Melissa had always loved animals. She adored her two dachshunds, Mindy and Lulu and lovingly took care of them. Growing up Melissa was on the swim team and took piano lessons for several years. Melissa got her motorcycle license and bought a blue Honda Rebel, nicknamed "Little Blue." She was very excited to have just purchased her first car, a brand new grey Mazda 3 hatchback nicknamed, "Mozzie." When she wasn't working Melissa loved being outside. She especially enjoyed being in downtown Madison. She loved walking on State Street, walking around the square, and visiting the Memorial Union. She loved shopping and decorating her room. Melissa lived at home with her parents and two younger sisters and loved spending time with her family. She loved taking her little sisters to Starbucks where she was a gold card member. She dreamed of owning a horse farm and having lots of pets. Melissa had always been a daredevil and before deciding to go to school to become a Veterinary Technician she dreamed of being a stunt double and wanted to go skydiving and bungee jumping someday.
Melissa is survived by her parents; siblings, Daniel, Samantha, Amanda and Joanna; maternal grandparents, Robert and Rose Call; paternal grandmother, Suzanne Bovay; and paternal step-grandmother, Pauline Robinson and many many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ronald Robinson.
