I remember going fishing with Otis many times on the Madison lakes. When I wasn't untangling his fishing line or taking his fish off the hook, I actually found time to fish. I will remember his laugh and the good times that we shared.

I remember Uncle Otis liked to joke around. He especially liked kids, and rough housing with them. He always asked if the food was homemade, and liked my mother's cooking. He amazed me by making some pretty good fudge. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, but especially the Brewers and the Packers. He liked cars, and had some pretty fancy ones himself, like a blue (Impala?) with wings, and a white mustang, but he usually drove too fast. He had plans to get his driver's license again and get another car. He always joked that his nephew was going to be a pro baseball player. Uncle Otis even helped his nephew deliver his papers on a very cold day. He would help anyone out, but could have a temper, also. He tried to have a good compliment for everyone. He enjoyed getting together with his cousins and relatives. Otis was quite the ladies man.

Several things that come to mind when I think of Uncle Otis, the best being his warm, friendly smile, which he wore whenever I saw him. He would always make you feel so welcome and he was so glad to see you. We enjoyed having him attend our girls birthday parties and being with him for family holidays. He would make me feel so happy because he would give such nice compliments about the food that was prepared, it was a joy to cook for him because you knew he appreciated it. He loved to talk and ask questions. Another great memory is playing cards with him, it was a lot of fun! We would play Euchre or Dirty Clubs. He loved kids and always tried to interact with our two daughters, two of his grand nieces. He loved to hold them high in the air and loved trying to make them laugh and giggle. He had a good heart and we are glad he was a part of our lives.
