Obituary

MADISON-Beloved mother, JoAnn M. Torke, of Madison, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, after a brief illness. She worked at the Dept. of Transportation until her retirement. JoAnn is survived by her three children, Mark Poffinbarger, Scott (Julie) Poffinbarger and Vickie (Fred) Pocius; sisters, Sharon Kroetz, Shirley Klink and Nancy Batz; grandchildren, Erik and Sean Poffinbarger, Jeffrey and Bradley (Nikita) Poffinbarger and Cole Pocius; and great-granddaughter, Lily Poffinbarger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Marvin Torke; sister, Jean; and life partner, Richard Kearney. There will be no funeral services or visitation. Burial will be held at Highland Memory Gardens. The family extends special thanks to Agrace HospiceCare and Aster Retirement Center staff for their compassionate care. JoAnn will be dearly missed. JoAnn is not suffering any more. She really struggled in her last few years of life. I will always remember her funny laugh, and as always her many different hats she wore. May you rest in peace my Sister.

I'm sorry for your loss. I was glad that Richard had JoAnn in his life. They seemed so great together. JoAnn was a lively person and fun to be around. I worked with both of them and would call her now and then after Dick died. I actually was thinking about her not long ago. Now they are together again. Barb Jurewicz
