Jeanette Elizabeth Ross

BROOKLYN-Jeanette Elizabeth Ross, age 83, of Brooklyn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, surrounded by her family after a brief stay at Oregon Manor. She was born on Aug. 22, 1928, in Stoughton, the daughter of Roy and Frieda (Hofer) Frautschy. Jeanette married Robert M. Ross on Sept. 3, 1949, in Brooklyn. She graduated from Brooklyn High School. Jeanette worked as a secretary for Brooklyn Lutheran for a number of years. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and was very devoted to her family. Jeanette loved family vacations at Shawano Lake. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, watching old movies, working on jigsaw puzzles, and doing needlepoint handwork. Jeanette is survived by her sons, Eric of Oregon and Al (Sue) of Juda; grandchildren, Kevin (Stephanie) Ross of Greenville, Brian (Heather) Ross of Evansville, Jenny (Jason) Anderson of Indianapolis, and Kelly Ross of Oregon; great-grandchildren, Madi, Megan, and Peyton of Greenville, and Haley and Katelyn of Evansville; brother, Leland (Gladys) Frautschy of Brooklyn; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sister-in-law; mother-in-law; and father-in-law. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL HOME, 1150 Park Street, Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, with Pastor Jeff Cole presiding. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
